Marble Prototype

This is a momentum-based 3D physics-based marble platformer focused on maximizing character acceleration and physics challenges.

Games Design

  • Designed a selection of puzzle ideas and concepts to provide a variety of obstacles for the player.

    • Puzzles include numerous moving, spinning and falling platforms, hills, ramps, balancing geometry and bridges.

Level Design

  • Designed a large, open platforming level with an emphasis on exploration.

    • Iterated upon from paper design to engine

  • Blocked-out, Meshed and Lit the level in-engine.

    • Learnt and used Unreal Engine 4’s Landscape editor to construct and iterate on the scale and layout of the map.

Technical Design

  • Implemented a reliable physics based movement system for the marble.

  • Created a game mode for collecting coins that are saved at checkpoints, along with respawns for the player.

  • Implemented a multitude of puzzles and platforming actors to provide obstacles for the player.
